The webinar on 10th February 2021 focuses on recognizing complications of COVID-19.

Moderator:

Datuk Dr Christopher Lee Kwok Choong is a senior consultant infectious disease physician, president of Malaysian AIDS Council and former Deputy Director General of Health, Ministry of Health Malaysia.

Panellist for this week:

Dr Lee Heng Gee, MBChB, MRCP (UK) is the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and State of Sabah Infectious Disease Consultant. He is also the Head of Infection Prevention and Control Unit at Queen Elizabeth Hospital and director of the Antimicrobial Stewardship Programme. His clinical expertise includes infectious diseases, hospital infection prevention and control, antimicrobial stewardship, and internal medicine.

Dr. Lee is a graduate of the University of Auckland, New Zealand. He received his MRCP (UK) from the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom. He completed his Infectious Diseases fellowship at the National University Hospital Singapore. He is a member of the Royal Colleges of Physicians (London), member of the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA), member of the HIV Medicine Association (HIVMA), member of the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America (SHEA) and member of the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases. He has interest in both the clinical and policy aspects of COVID-19, HIV, general infectious diseases, antimicrobial resistance, and infection prevention.

Dr. Lee is actively managing COVID-19 patients since the beginning of the pandemic in Sabah. Queen Elizabeth Hospital is the main referral center for COVID-19 patients in Sabah. He is currently a co-investigator in the WHO Solidarity Trial, an international randomized trial of additional treatments for COVID-19 in hospitalized patients who are all receiving the local standard of care.
